Horticultural Corn Meal

Starting at:

Horticultural cornmeal is the natural disease fighter that is good for use on fungal diseases; such as: Late blight, Wilts (Fusarium and Verticillium), Early blight. One application may be all that is needed, but multiple applications are okay, because cornmeal serves as a mild organic fertilizer and soil builder. For root and soil borne fungal diseases use 10-20 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft. Cornmeal works as a disease fighter in the soil by stimulating beneficial microorganisms that feed on pathogens. Use 2 lbs. per 100 sq.ft. to help control damping off in seedlings. You can also make a tea from the cornmeal. Soak 1c. cornmeal to 5gal. warm water for 30-60 minutes. Strain out solids and spray foliage on both the top and underneath. Grocery variety cornmeal is mainly the starchy inside of the corn kernel and is not effective for any plant uses. Whereas corn gluten meal is the natural "weed and feed" product for organic/natural lawn care.
